The transfer saga of Bruno Fernandes to Manchester United seems to be rolling on forever with some reports even claiming that the transfer might be off.

Seemingly, Fernandes has played a number of farewell games for Sporting but he is nowhere close to joining the Old Trafford outfit.

During the past couple of days, the transfer mill seems to have calmed down since some major reports claiming that Sporting are not happy with the price and will not let Bruno Fernandes leave this month.

But now according to two major Sky Sports journalists, Man United are still trying to negotiate a deal with Sporting.

Speaking in an interview, Sky Sports News reporter Solhekol said: “Manchester United are still after Bruno Fernandes.

“He’s a world-class attacking midfielder and we’ve been told this week that he’s the best player in Portugal having been the Portuguese Player of the Year twice in a row.

“A lot of people think he’s exactly what they’re looking for. The only problem is United aren’t offering Sporting enough. Sporting want £52m but United are offering £42m.”

Apart from Solhekol, Dharmesh Sheth has also claimed that man United still remain in the hunt for Bruno Fernandes and it’s just a matter of sorting out the transfer price which is proving to be the final obstacle for the OT outfit.

Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth revealed: “The latest information we have – reports in Portugal – claim Sporting will agree to sell Bruno Fernandes to Man Utd for an initial £46.5m upfront with £12.5m in add-ons.

“It’s been suggested to me that the delays are down to the adds ons being unrealistic but seems now Man Utd could be willing to accept.

“This deal has been driven almost exclusively from the Portugal end… classic brinkmanship! This could go to Deadline Day but what is clear is that there is a willingness from all parties to get this deal done.”

Bruno Fernandes was a transfer which should have been wrapped up before the start of the season and now it looks like Sporting have understood that Manchester United are desperate to add Bruno Fernandes to their ranks especially with both Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay out injured for lengthy periods.
