Arsenal beat Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final and everyone thought they will breeze past Aston Villa in the Premier League on Tuesday.

That though was not the case as the Emirates outfit went down 1-0 at Villa Park meaning they look all set to miss out on European football during the 2020-21 season.

Mikel Arteta will surely be looking at the summer transfer window to bring in some new signings for the upcoming campaign but the manager has sent out a warning that new players will not be the only solution.

He said after the match, as per the club’s official website: “That[new arrivals] is one thing, and the other thing is the specificity you need within that squad balance to do it consistently.

“We’ve done it, today we had a different challenge, completely different game and we have to find a way to do that.

“That will take time because at the end of the day when you have that many points of margin with the top teams it’s for a reason. We know that reason and we will try to put it right with a lot of work first and in the right moments with the players that we need in order to do that.

“The big challenge is to keep going on the process, keep the players believing in what we are doing, improve them as much as we can and then make some really good decisions in certain areas and that’s what we need. That’s it.”

Can Arsenal make big signings this summer?

No matter what Arteta claims but the only way he can get Arsenal back to the top is by reshaping his current squad.

But we doubt if the Gunners management will be ready to spend massive amounts of money this summer since they are already really cash strained.

There have also been some rumours that Arsenal could be working on a shoe-string budget this time around meaning they might not be able to target too many big players.

Also, the fact that they might not be playing in Europe next season, not a lot of players will be too keen to join the North London outfit.
