Jadon Sancho wanted by Man United
Jadon Sancho is one of the players who is expected to make a move back to the Premier League this summer

Manchester United fans and even some pundits might be pushing young Jadon Sancho on the same path that Paul Pogba has been walking on for the past few years.

While naming his Top 10 draft picks, Gary Neville was quick to point out that even though Jadon Sancho is a fine talent but the 20-year-old’s shoulders should not be burdened with too much pressure.

‘To be honest, Jadon Sancho in this moment of time… we get carried away,’ Neville told Sky Sports, via Metro.

‘I think we’ve got an amazing group of young English players. But we have to consider the other players that exist, Brazilian players, Argentine players, German players, Belgium players, we are not the only country in the world.

‘That’s how it was as an England player and an England coach, “we have a golden generation”. You say golden generation and obviously, it was Becks, Stevie, Frank, Rooney, but then Brazil had Rivaldo, Ronaldinho and Ronaldo, what’s that… platinum?

‘You say we have a golden generation but you forget these other countries have world stars. It’s like, “hang on a second”. Argentina have Aguero, Higuain, Messi, Di Maria, how good are they compared to Jadon Sancho? Jadon Sancho is nowhere near these players.

‘Let’s be clear, Jadon Sancho is a talent, but we can’t start putting him in the category with world stars who are winning European cups and World Cups regularly, season in season out.

‘That’s why I put Varane ahead of Van Dijk purely because this moment in time Varane’s won so many European cups, he’s an amazing player. You can’t separate their talent, but Varane’s a brilliant player.’

Can Jadon Sancho survive in the PL?

Paul Pogba was a world-beater at Juventus but as soon as he returned to England, the midfielder’s form dropped and since then, he has been dwindling with mediocrity.

Man United wanted the Frenchman to take the centre-stage at the club and while he was ready to do so, Pogba was not ready to should the added responsibility. And if Jadon Sancho has that exact same mentality then he too will find it really hard to succeed at Old Trafford.

Solskjaer is a manager who’s been moulded by Sir Alex Ferguson so the Norwegian will accept nothing less than 100% from his players, both on as well as off the pitch. And this has been clearly evident in his team’s performances so far this season.

So Jadon Sancho will not be an automatic choice as soon as he steps into the squad but instead, he will first have to win the faith of his new boss.
