Cameron Carter-Vickers has performed wonderfully well for Celtic this season and the Bhoys are desperate to sign him up on a permanent deal in the summer.

The 24-year-old joined Celtic on loan from Spurs last summer and under Ange Postecoglou, he has done remarkably well, playing in 33 Premiership games this season.

It’s no secret that Celtic want to hold onto him but according to Spurs journalist Alasdair Gold, while the Scottish side are leading the line but there’s a chance that the defender can return to the Premier League.

Gold said, as quoted: “He will be someone that will be leaving [Spurs] this summer. The option that Celtic have is £6m with the potential for £4m more in add-ons eventually if he meets certain criteria. He’s had a brilliant season.

“He’s got Premier League clubs interested in him. He could be a Premier League player. My gut says that Celtic will sign him and I think he’ll want to stay at Celtic because he’s got a great thing going there.”

Will Carter-Vickers snub Celtic and return to England?

Carter-Vickers has indicated that he is willing to commit his future to the Parkhead side but the lure of the Premier League is very hard to resist for any player.

Alasdair Gold is one of the most reliable journalists when it comes to Spurs news so if he is claiming then surely several Premier League clubs are keeping tabs on him.

The defender has failed to impress at Tottenham so the Lilywhites will have no problem in letting him leave but the transfer fee could be a major issue for Celtic.

£6+£4 million is a massive amount for a club like Celtic but none of the Premier League sides will find it difficult to pay this fee for the 24-year-old. The Bhoys can very easily be prized out of this transfer race and if a mid-table Premier League side wants to sign Carter-Vickers, there’s every chance the American snubs a return to the SPFL and remains in England.
