Scottish Premiership side Celtic FC are looking to bring in a new centre-forward for the 2020-21 season and they might try to make a move for Honduras striker Jorge Benguche, as per reports.

Celtic FC could lose Odsonne Edouard to Premier League side Arsenal which is why manager Neil Lennon is so eager to add a replacement to his ranks this summer.

And in such a scenario, the Parkhead outfit are being constantly linked with a series of centre-forwards over the past couple of months.

In this never-ending rumour vine, the latest addition seems to be 24-year-old Jorge Benguche who currently plays for Honduras side CD Olimpia.

Glasgow Live are reporting: “Celtic have been linked with a move for Honduras striker Jorge Benguche.

“The 24-year-old plays with Club Deportivo Olimpia in his homeland and has three caps for his national side since making his debut last year.

“Honduran paper La Prensa have reported today that Benguche is attracting interest from various European clubs, with Celtic named in the article along with Portuguese side Belenenses and Serie A outfit Cagliari.”

Not much is known about the 24-year-old centre-forward but as per TransferMarkt he’s valued at £270000 and we are not quite sure why the Celtic FC will want to make a move for a relatively unknown player.

The SPFL side have been linked with players like Lyle Taylor, Ivan Toney and Lyndon Dykes and we are confident that Jorge Benguche does not even fit in the same bracket.

Odsonne Edouard has scored 21 goals in just 27 Premiership games this season and we doubt if someone like Benguche can fill up that void next season.
