Celtic FC had a wonderful season last time around and their next biggest task now is to get back into the Champions League. But a major cause of concern for the Bhoys is that they have had a very dull summer transfer window.

Celtic are struggling to rope in new players and on the other hand, they are constantly fighting this battle of keeping some of their top players for the next season.

But now it reports are to be believed then Brendan Rodgers has made a major statement of intent by managing to hold onto his left-back Kieran Tierney.

Tierney, 21 is without a doubt the best player in his position in the Scottish league and a series of clubs had shown interest in signing him up during the summer.

And amongst these clubs, Premier League club Bournemouth were said to be leading the race.

Now though, the EPL outfit have come to the realization that Celtic will not be selling Kieran Tierney and are willing to withdraw their interest in the youngster.

Kieran Tierney is a Celtic youth team product and since making his debut for the Hoops back in 2014 the 21-year old has made 130 appearances for the club – scoring 7 goals.

Brendan Rodgers’ successful retention of Tierney is surely a statement of intent from the club but it also sends out a positive message to the other players in the squad.

Also, if Celtic manage to retain some of their biggest stars including Kieran Tierney then it might go a really long way in attracting future signings.
