Celtic FC are reportedly interested in signing 23-year-old defender Scott McKenna from Aberdeen as per a report in the Football Insider.
The report claims: “The Scotland international is on the radar of the Hoops as they look to bring in a proven centre-back this summer. The Hoops have previously submitted offers for McKenna that were knocked back by Aberdeen.
“They were well below the price offered by Stoke City, who, a recruitment source has told Football Insider, had a £7m bid accepted by the Pittodrie club on deadline day in January of last year and gave the defender permission to hold talks.
“However, a deal could not be finalised and it collapsed at the eleventh hour just as the window was shutting.”

Celtic FC boss Neil Lennon is looking to add a few defensive reinforcements to the club this summer especially with Kristoffer Ajer being linked with a move out of the club during the summer.
There’s no doubt McKenna would be an excellent signing for the Hoops and as per Football Insider, Aberdeen know it for a fact that they will not be able to get the same transfer price as they had been quoting six months ago.
This means Celtic FC are about to get a massive discount if they are serious about signing the 23-year-old.
But what some experts are fearing is that Stoke City might reignite their interest in the centre-back which could be a serious blow for the Park Head side as the 23-year-old could opt to play for an English side.
Kristoffer Ajer has been linked with a move to the Premier League as Brendan Rodgers looks to sign him for Leicester City. And Celtic’s interest in the Aberdeen man surely means that the Foxes have moved one step closer to landing the Ajer for the 20/21 season.
Scott McKenna has come up through the ranks at Aberdeen and this season he has featured in 24 Premiership games for the Scottish side.
