The summer transfer window closes this Friday and it seems that the final few days are set to be a rollercoaster for both Celtic and Rangers.

During the weekend it was reported that the Light Blues were interested in signing Nottingham Forest defender Joe Worrall on a season-long loan deal and on Tuesday a number of established publications in Scotland had claimed that Rangers have finally gotten their man.

The reports added that Steven Gerrard has personally held talks with the Forest manager assuring him that Joe Worrall will receive ample amount of game time at Ibrox and the deal was expected to be wrapped up by Wednesday.

But now fresh reports are suggesting that Celtic FC have made a late entry as they look to spoil Joe Worrall’s move to Ibrox.

According to Est Consultancy Twitter account, which is a very reliable source of Gers news, there are a number of other clubs who are interested in Worrall – Celtic FC being one of them.

Est put out a tweet which read: “Worrall would be an interesting signing in terms of the team attempting to go 3 at the back again in future. Also heard however that he has a few options on the table with one of them being the unmentionables.”

Immediately after this tweet, some reports have started surfacing that the Hoops have made an official offer to Nottingham Forest for the loan deal of Joe Worrall also such rumours cannot be confirmed right now.

But one thing is for sure that Celtic too are interested in the centre-back which seriously jeopardises the changes of Steven Gerrard – especially with just a couple of days left for the transfer window to close.
