SPFL Celtic FC Scottish Premiership
Celtic Park

Celtic FC have already wrapped up the Premiership this season while the Gers have finished second by some distance.

Right now, Celtic are six points clear at the top of the table but that gap could eventually be reduced to three points given that there is one more game to play in the Premiership.

Rangers take on Kilmarnock away from home while Celtic entertain Hearts.

And this match at Celtic Park will be the perfect preparation for the Hoops as they will play the Jambos in the Scottish Cup final after just seven days.

In normal circumstances, no Rangers fan would want Celtic to do a treble this season but as things stand, Celtic winning the Scottish Cup will give a huge boost to Steven Gerrard’s side.

Right now the Gers are set to play in the first qualifying phase of the Europa League since they have finished the runners-up in the Premiership.

But if their Glasgow rivals manage to win the Scottish Cup then Gerrard’s side will jump into the second qualifying stage.

This will surely be a huge boost for the Teddy Bears given that they will then be able to start their new season about 15 days prior to the current schedule.

As per Football Scotland, if Hearts go on to win the Scottish Cup then “Craig Levein’s side would enter in the second round of qualifiers instead and Gers would join either Aberdeen or Kilmarnock in the initial stage.”

Surely Steven Gerrard will not be looking for a favour from their Old Firm rivals but there’s no denying that Celtic winning the Scottish Cup will be a huge advantage for Rangers.

But do the Rangers fans really want their arch-rivals to do a treble of trebles?
