Liverpool will take on Porto in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals at Anfield on Tuesday.

And before this all-important clash, Jurgen Klopp has confirmed the non-availability of two players.

The German has made it clear that both Joe Gomez and Adam Lallana will miss the European clash.

Joe Gomez has been out since December after breaking his leg but the player was making a speedy recovery during the past couple of weeks.

Now though the manager has made it clear that Joe Gomez will not be part of the Liverpool matchday squad vs Porto in the Champions League.

“We wanted to have Joe around, not because he is now 100 per cent ready but it was just nice to have him,” Klopp said about Gomez.

“He could be maybe [available] but for him, it’s better to have more sessions. Joe needs that, he is not long enough in training.”

Adam Lallan missed the 3-1 win vs Southampton after picking up a muscle injury in training and he too will miss the Champions League clash on Tuesday.

“Adam was only a little thing, we don’t have to talk about that. It kept him out for the weekend and maybe for tomorrow.” the Liverpool manager added.

While both these players are not key to Jurgen Klopp’s plans for the European fixture but there’s no denying that the Reds might have used them on the bench.
