West Ham United manager Manuel Pellegrini is keen on reuniting with AS Roma frontman Edin Dzeko – as per reports.

The pair had previously worked together at Manchester City and the Bosnian eventually joined Roma in 2016. And since then, the 33-year-old has been a key figure for the Serie A side.

During the 2018-19 season, Edin Dzeko has played in 26 league games for Roma, netting seven goals and providing four assists.

And if reports are to be believed then Pellegrini is looking at the forward as the potential replacement for Marko Arnautovic.

Arnie was pretty close to leaving West Ham during the January window but eventually, that move collapsed. But there are fears that the Austrian might very well be on his way out during the summer.

But many experts are a bit sceptical with the prospect of Edin Dzeko coming in to fill the void for Arnautovic.

The reports suggest West Ham are offering Edin Dzeko a two-year deal worth in the region of €200,000 which is certainly a steep price for a player who is well beyond his prime.

Yes, the player has been in fine form for Roma this season but this cannot shadow the fact that he is 33-years-old.

Theoretically, Edin Dzeko might still have a couple of years left in him but one big injury and his professional career might come to a screeching halt.

And the last thing Pellegrini would want to do is to fish for a replacement during the middle of a season.
