Liverpool beat Barcelona in the Champions League semi-finals and now they will take on Tottenham Hotspur in the finals.
The final will be played at the Metropolitano next month and the all-English final has gathered a lot of hype during the past couple of weeks.
UEFA have already announced that American band Imagine Dragons will be performing during the opening ceremony of the Champions League final.
But now Liverpool are taking some really harsh steps to ensure that their fans can watch the final in Madrid without shelling out extra money.
The Anfield outfit have been allocated 16,613 tickets for the final vs Spurs and a number of people who have purchased the tickets are putting them up for resale through unauthorised secondary sites.
Now the club have released a statement in which they have claimed that selling the Champions League final tickets at an inflated price could result in an indefinite ban from Anfield.
“Fans are warned that buying tickets via unofficial online sources does not guarantee tickets are genuine or that they will actually receive them,” said a club statement(as reported).
“As part of its commitment to tackle ticket touting, the club has created a test purchase programme to help protect supporters from purchasing via unauthorised ticketing sites. The programme aims to identify and stop these sales.
“While selling or offering to sell tickets without the permission of the club is a criminal offence, LFC also intends to impose sanctions on any supporters found to be selling tickets through unofficial secondary ticketing sites.
“Sanctions could include ticket-buying suspensions and indefinite bans from Anfield.
“It could also mean that any tickets for the Champions League final in Madrid are invalid, and purchasers will be unable to gain access to Estadio Metropolitano.”
According to reports, Liverpool fans are selling the Champions League final tickets on reselling website for anywhere between £2,800 to £35,000.
