Rangers vs Leipzig

Rangers FC will be out hunting for players during the January transfer window and reports have it that the club are looking to bring in as many as four new players.

The Gers had signed more than a dozen players during the summer transfer window but clearly, the manager feels he still needs more reinforcements.

While a number of names have been linked with the Premiership outfit during the past couple of weeks one former player has himself shown the desire to join the Gers.

Charlie Adam who currently plays for Stoke City in the Championship wants to head out of the club on a loan spell in January and the former Rangers man has shown his interest in returning back to his former club.

Charlie Adam said: “A loan is something I would look at. I will discuss it when it’s closer to the time but I want to play – and Scotland is, hopefully, an option.

“It was great to come back (for Kris Boyd’s testimonial last Saturday) and relive the old stories with the guys I played with at Rangers, like Boydy, Sasa Papac and Pedro Mendes.

“It’s also been good to see how Rangers are progressing this season under Steven Gerrard.

“He has the aura, presence and stature to take on the pressure that comes with that job. A lot of people might have crumbled by now.”

Charlie Adam started his senior career with Rangers as he went on to play 88 games for the Glasgow side but it was with Blackpool that the midfielder became a household name in England before securing a move to Liverpool back in 2011.

Obviously, Steven Gerrard will know his pretty well as both of them played together for Liverpool but given the age of his player and the amount of talent that the manager has in the midfield area we do not think that Rangers will try and bring in Charlie Adam.
