Chelsea suffered their second loss of the 2019-20 Premier League season this past weekend when they went down 2-1 to Liverpool at home.

The Blues should have come out of the match with atleast one point but apart from N’Golo Kante’s second-half goal, Chelsea also saw a strike from Azpilicueta ruled out by VAR.

And speaking after the match, the Blues manager chose to spoke out against the decision suggesting that the introduction of VAR kills the atmosphere.

“We have to get on with it. It is a sad thing for the celebration and the moment but if we are looking for correct decisions that is where we are at,” the Chelsea manager said.

“It changes the atmosphere in the crowd, on the pitch. We are slightly deflated and they get a boost. We deserved to be level at that point.”

But while criticising the technology, Lampard also made it clear that everyone involved with the game will have to get adjusted to the new technology since it is here to stay.

Lampard told talkSPORT“It’s here to stay, so it’s frustrating. It definitely kills the moment, that’s for sure.

“People pay their money and they want to celebrate, the players want to celebrate and now, we’re all going to have to try to wait a moment. It’s difficult.

“I saw the Tottenham game yesterday [where VAR disallowed a Serge Aurier goal against Leicester], and it’s a shame when you’re talking about tough decisions.

“But we have to accept it, it’s here, it’s not going anywhere, I just hope some go in our favour very soon.”

Chelsea did manage to up their game in the second half but by that time, Jurgen Klopp’s men had settled their nerves and it is not easy for a club to rattle Liverpool’s cage when they are sitting pretty with a 2-0 lead.
