Liverpool picked up their sixth straight win in the Premier League this season this time at the expense of Chelsea this past Sunday at Stamford Bridge.

The Anfield outfit took the lead in the 14th minute through Alexander-Arnold and it was Roberto Firmino who put them in the lead right on the half-hour mark.

N’Golo Kante did pull one goal back but the Blues failed to utilise that momentum and pull in an equaliser.

Speaking after the match, former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho called out three Chelsea players for their poor show during the match saying that they should have done better to keep Liverpool at bay.

“I think the goalkeeper should be a little bit more on his side and not be afraid of the ball either the wall,” Mourinho told Sky Sports(as reported by the Daily Star).

“It’s very difficult for the ball to go other the wall and if it does it’s a slow ball, not a fast ball.

“Also the players on the side of the wall have to be much more ready to attack this ball.

“Maybe not just Jorginho, maybe also [Mateo] Kovacic to close and block that ball.

“This is the kind of ball I can see a John Terry or Jamie Carragher diving to block the ball, with the chest.

“It’s little details that can cost you points.”

Verdict

Chelsea did get a number of chances to not only equalise but also to pick up all three points. But the inexperience of the frontline meant that Frank Lampard had to suffer his second defeat of the 2019-20 Premier League season.

Jose Mourinho has obviously pointed out the little details which cost Chelsea the game on Sunday but overall the Blues lacking the presence of a senior pro who can guide the team through difficult situations.
