Chelsea drew vs Leicester City in the Premier League last time around and on Monday they take on Manchester United. And it’s very much possible that Lampard’s men drop points in this game as well.

And if this challenge was not enough, the Blues will have to play against the likes of Spurs, Liverpool and then Manchester City all within the next couple of weeks meaning by the end of March, Chelsea could very well fall out of the Champions League qualification race.

But speaking on this very topic, Frank Lampard has made it clear that he wants his players to take on this challenge head-on.

‘I don’t mind the reality of it, I like the reality of it,’ he explained to the club’s official website.

‘I think the players should know that if you want to make the top four, we’re in a good position now and we can affect it seriously over the next seven days.

‘That’s not bad to have in your mind. We should be slightly on edge.

‘Training should be on edge, like it has been, when people are tense and being competitive, and we have to take that into the game against Manchester United.’

Chelsea currently have only a two-point lead on the table meaning if they were to lose to Manchester United on Monday, they could be out of the top-four by the end of next weekend.

And if this was not bad enough, then they will have to focus on taking on Bayern Munich in the Champions League just three days after their clash vs Tottenham Hotspur.
