Project Restart is in full swing and much like the other Premier League sides, Chelsea are also about to resume their training sessions in the coming few days.

But before the final plan of the resumption of the Premier League can be laid out, a number of footballers(like Troy Deeney and Mark Noble) have raised concerns over the safely of themselves and their families once the 2019-20 season gets back on track.

And while talking on this same topic, Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has admitted that all of his players are ready to get back onto the pitch but at the same time has defended the various others who have been vocal against a restart.

“Everyone will handle those situations differently,” Lampard told Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp.

“People like Troy Deeney, you have to give the freedom to speak out, because people will be speaking from the heart.

“I think we have to upgrade that communication so players know what they’re going through, and then they can make those decisions.

“My lads, I know – and I’m sure all managers will speak in the same way – they’re good lads. Their intentions and their feelings for their families are good. They want to get here and work. They can’t wait to get back and play football.

“I think the important part of my job at the moment is a lot of empathy with the players.

“You can’t just say, ‘lads, we’re going this way’, because this is a situation none of us have known. This is not a players’ strike, it’s not a player not wanting to train, or a player having an argument with another player, this is something that has affected everyone and their families.”

After this statement, there has been a buzz on social media as some fans are claiming that Chelsea might not force their players to return back to training if someone amongst them is against this whole arrangement.

So far none of the Chelsea players have publicly come out to object to the resumption but a number of them are set to be free agents at the end of next month and there are now fears that some of them could raise objections about playing beyond their current contract expiration date.
