Chelsea have massively picked up their game this season and right now they are playing some pretty fine football despite being unable to sign any new players last summer.

The Blues beat Watford 2-1 in the league this past weekend and now they shift their focus to the Champions League as they take on Ajax at home on Tuesday.

Chelsea are currently at the top of the group with 6 points meaning a win vs Ajax would guarantee qualification to the knockout stages.

And everyone associated with the London side would be keeping their hopes high since they manage to beat Ajax at the Amsterdam Arena 1-0 a couple of weeks ago.

Chelsea team news vs Ajax:

Frank Lampard has a number of players who are recovering from injuries but if luck favours him them the big names might make a comeback vs the Amsterdam side this week.

Both Ross Barkley and N’Golo Kante have been out with injuries for some time now but there are reports that the duo might just be fit enough to start on Tuesday.

The Blues obviously will take a late call but if there is any doubt then Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic will play in central midfield once again while Mason Mount plays in a more advanced role.

The backline vs Watford comprised of Emerson, Tomori, Zouma and Azpilicueta and we believe this will remain unchanged for Europe although there is a faint chance that Marcos Alonso might start at left-back.

Christian Pulisic got the nod ahead of Hudson-Odoi during the weekend but the American should be rested in midweek as the academy lad takes his place.

Willian seems to have found his form during the past couple of games and the Brazilian should keep his playing in the first XI on Tuesday.

Tammy Abraham will most certainly start upfront but he could be replaced by Michy Batshuayi in the second half since the Dutchman has also scored some pretty important goals this season.

With Abraham likely to start, it means Olivier Giroud is once again going to be deprived of game time which could finally lead to his exit in January.

Chelsea predicted line-up vs Ajax:

Starting XI: Kepa; Tomori, Zouma, Azpilicueta, Alonso/Emerson; Jorginho, Kovacic, Mount; Willian, Pulisic/Hudson-Odoi, Abraham.
