Unai Emery was appointed the manager once Arsene Wenger decided to part ways with Arsenal and since then it has been a roller coaster ride for the fans.

Initially, it seemed as if the former PSG boss was making all the right decisions and the club was moving forward at a rapid pace.

But during the course of the past 12 months, Unai Emery has made a lot of rash choices which has raised a number of eyebrows from fans as well as the pundits.

From letting Aaron Ramsey leave to freezing out Mesut Ozil, the manager seems to have made a number of bad picks off the pitch. Also to make matters worse, on the pitch too, the Gunners have been constantly dropping points.

Right now, Arsenal have fifth on the Premier League table and have failed to win their last four league games. And speaking about the state of the club under Unai Emery, here’s what Danny Mills had to say.

The former England defender said[as reported]: “Has it really changed since Arsenal Wenger left? I’m talking about the last two or three seasons under Wenger where it wasn’t quite as good as it was previously.

“I don’t think it has. You don’t look at Arsenal now and think they’re dramatically different to how they used to play at the end of Wenger’s reign.

“It’s the same. It’s the same problems. It shows you that you have to be careful what you wish for.

“Wenger was at the club for so long and was so successful. Yeah okay, getting in the top four is not a trophy, but that consistency was outstanding.

“It was always going to be a huge problem for someone else to come in a change that club. Wenger was the DNA of Arsenal, as Fergie was the DNA of Man United.

“They’ve now got to find a new DNA.

“They’ll all looking at instant success and thinking they’re going to straight back to challenging Man City and Liverpool because ‘we’ve got this new manager in and he’s been successful at Sevilla and PSG’ – ‘we’ve got this new manager and everything’s going to be great’.

“But it’s not. Everything has pretty much stayed the same.”

Already there are talks about sacking Una Emery and some reports claim the manager has around Christmas to get his act sorted or else he will be shown the door.
