Chelsea held the mighty Manchester City to a 1-1 draw in the Premier League last weekend and with that confidence, they now head to the Carabao Cup final against Liverpool.

The Blues met Liverpool just 25 days ago and Poch’s team lost that match 4-1. However, Chelsea have pulled up their socks massively and at least, they will be able to put up a proper fight on Sunday.

The Blues haven’t kept a clean sheet in 5 matches plus they have not been able to beat the Anfield outfit in their previous 8 attempts across all competitions so the odds are heavily stacked against them. There’s no denying that Liverpool are the favourites to win at Wembley but Pochettino will go into this tie with a lot of positive vibes, especially after the draw vs MCFC.

Chelsea’s team news and injuries:

One big plus for the Chelsea manager is that the injuries are slowly going down and right now, only a handful of players are missing.

Thiago Silva is a doubt for the final after he picked up a groin injury during Chelsea’s 3-1 win over Crystal Palace earlier this month. Disasi and Levi Colwill paired up in central defence last weekend and they will hold onto their place at Wembley.

Marc Cucurella and Reece James are both unavailable so Chilwell and Gusto will play as the two wide defenders.

Christopher Nkunku came off the bench to play around 30 minutes against MCFC but it was Raheem Sterling who scored the only goal of that game for Chelsea and the England international will obviously get the nod out on the left wing.

Nicolas Jackson might not have been an instant success but the 22-year-old has still made 10 goal contributions in the league and he is going to lead the line at Wembley.

The Chelsea manager is sorting things out in his front line and if someone his defenders can keep the likes of Salah and Diaz in check they have a great chance of turning this dismal season into a success.
