Chelsea’s Technical Director Quits Days After The Club Owner Visits The Training Grounds: Conte Next In Line To Receive The Same Treatment?

Chelsea have formally parted ways with their technical director Michael Emenalo after the Nigerian joined the club back in 2007.

Emenalo came to Stamford Bridge during Avram Grant’s managerial regime and in 2010 he was promoted to the position of the first team assistant coach after Ray Wilkins vacated the spot. Then in 2011 he was announced as the new technical director of the club and was in charge of scouting and academy programs.

But now Chelsea have released an official statement wherein the club have announced that Emenalo has decided to step down from his role. In the statement released by Chelsea, Emenalo said, “This has been a very difficult decision to make, but one I believe is right for both myself and my family, and the club. I have had the privilege to work alongside some of the most talented people in the world of sport over the past 10 years, and I will depart incredibly proud of the achievements we have made. I wish Chelsea every success and look forward to following the club’s future triumphs from afar.”

This untimely vacancy has come as a huge blow for Chelsea’s owner Roman Abramovich and many pundits across England are claiming that this move could very well pave the way for sacking Antonio Conte in the coming few months.

Some reports across England are claiming that Conte might not even survive the full season as the Chelsea management are reluctant to show him the door before the new year. Roman Abramovich even paid a surprise visit to the club’s training facilities at Cobham and this immediately set the alarm bells ringing. And now Michael Emenalo has decided to step down within days of the said visit.

Even though the victory against Manchester United has calmed down the nerves a little but many people still feel that rather than avoiding immediate sacking, this Sunday’s victory has merely delayed it.
