Chelsea set to name their new manager this week after successful negotiations: Who is it then?

While every major Premier League club is out in the transfer market looking to bring in new players for the upcoming campaign, Chelsea, on the other hand, are still trying to bring in a new manager.

The Blues are yet to part ways with their current manager Antonio Conte as owner Roman Abramovich is on the lookout for the Italian’s replacement.

A couple of weeks ago, multiple reports had claimed that former Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri was set to become the new Chelsea manager but that move seemed to fizzle out soon after the Blues failed to agree on terms with Sarri and also Napoli(as the Italian is still on the club’s payroll).

After this reports started emerging that the Stamford Bridge outfit were looking at other alternatives and names like Laurent Blanc and Luis Enrique started popping up.

But during the past couple of hours, various media outlets from Italy have started claiming that Chelsea have finally reached an agreement with Maurizio Sarri.

Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia is expected to complete the final round of negotiations this week and the Blues should have a new manager by the weekend.

This news will come as a huge relief for current manager Antonio Conte who’s career is in a state of limbo.

If Chelsea announce Maurizio Sarri as their new manager by the end of this week then Antonio Conte will receive a payout of around £9m with the current boss still having one year left on his contract.

The Italian reports also suggest that Maurizio Sarri has already made his transfer wishlist for the upcoming season and wants to bring in atleast four new players during the summer transfer window.

The transfer wishlist includes names like Piotr Zielinski, Gonzalo Higuain, Elseid Hysaj and Kalidou Koulibaly.
