Chelsea have been slapped with a two-window transfer ban from FIFA from breaching rules and regulations and this means they will not be able to bring in any new players during the summer transfer window.

The ban has been imposed by FIFA after Chelsea were found guilty of 29 breaches of regulations over transferring minors.

But recent reports had suggested that the Blues had launched an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport against their FIFA transfer ban which led many to believe that they could finally be able to make new signings.

Fans believe that an appeal to the CAS would means that the Chelsea transfer ban would be frozen until the hearing was complete.

Sadly though that would not have been the case as it was suggested that any proceeding in the CAS would take months and by that time the transfer window would already be over.

And now in yet another update in the Chelsea transfer ban case Telegraph journalist Matt Law has made a sensational claim.

As per Law, despite popular belief, Chelsea have not yet made an appeal to the CAS.

Matt Law wrote: “I asked CAS last week if Chelsea had applied for their transfer ban to be frozen while their appeal is considered and double checked to see if the ban currently remains in place.”

And this is the reply he got from the Court of Arbitration in regards to the Chelsea transfer ban.

The CAS statement read: “For a challenged decision to be stayed during the CAS proceedings, a specific request to this effect must be made. At the time of writing, a request has not been filed in the Chelsea/FIFA matter. Accordingly, the FIFA decision remains in force.”

This will certainly a big blow for the Chelsea fans who are disheartened with the lethargic nature of their club in respect to such a serious ban.

Everyone expected Chelsea to take swift actions in order to freeze the ban for the summer so that they can bring in reinforcements for the upcoming season.

But as things are going, either the Blues management does not care about the ban or they have full faith in their current squad.
