Arsenal brought in Lucas Torriera from Sampdoria last summer and many experts felt the Uruguayan will be able to solve the Gunners’ midfield crisis.

During the 2018-19 season, Lucas Torriera made 34 Premier League appearances scoring 2 goals and making 2 assists.

But if reports are to be believed then Unai Emery might have to sell the defensive midfielder after just a single season.

Emery is preparing for a major overhaul this summer transfer window but he will only have around 45 million pounds to bring in new players.

This amount of money is never going to be enough which means the manager will have sell a number of his current players in order to fund his new transfers.

And Lucas Torreira might be one of those players who could be allowed to leave as AC Milan are eyeing the midfielder.

Milan are set to appoint Marco Giampaolo as their next boss and he wants to reunite with Lucas Torriera.

Torriera played his best football at Sampdoria when Marco Giampaolo was in charge and now Marco wants the Uruguyuan to become his new midfield general at the San Siro.

Under normal circumstances, Unai Emery will not be ready to sell off his defensive midfielder after just a single season but things are quite different now.

The Gunners urgently need to bring in defensive reinforcements for the upcoming season and for that Emery needs a fair amount of money.

And this is why many experts feel that the North London club might be forced to sell off Lucas Torriera this summer.

Granit Xhaka has made it clear that he will not be leaving Arsenal anytime soon which means that selling off Torriera should not impact Emery’s plans too much.
