Chelsea failed to sign any new players during the summer transfer window due to the transfer ban imposed on them but thankfully the same won’t be the case in January.

The Blues appealed against the ban and their embargo has been halved meaning the Stamford Bridge outfit will be able to bring in new recruits at the start of the new year.

And as per the latest reports, Chelsea manager Frank Lampard will get around £150 million as his transfer kitty.

The London outfit saved a lot of money at the start of the season since they couldn’t buy new players meaning they are ready to splash the cash in January.

It’s no secret that the Chelsea manager is looking to bring in some new players and many believe the boss will make signing a striker and a defender his utmost priority.

The Blues have been linked with the likes of Timo Werner and Moussa Dembele during the past couple of weeks and there have also been reports of Jadon Sancho being targetted by Lampard.

And last week, even Frank Lampard had claimed that even though he doesn’t wish to do massive business in January but still he would like to fix the key areas.

“I will look at all areas of the team but I think it was quite clear in the summer that you lose Eden Hazard, who was a huge part of scoring or creating our goals last season and the season before that,” Chelsea’s manager said[as quoted by the Guardian].

“I’m calm about this window. We don’t see so much great business in January.

“If it’s there to be done it’s right for the club and that’s a conversation for me and upstairs. I don’t think we’ll go crazy just because the ban has been lifted.”

It’s still unclear whether the Chelsea manager would want to spend the full £150 million in January itself but bringing in a back-up to Tammy Abraham and a top-quality centre-back is absolutely necessary.

The likes of Tomori and Mason Mount has done more than a decent job up until now but it’s clear that fatigue and inexperience are catching up with them. The London outfit have lost four of their last five Premier League matches meaning if reinforcements do not arrive soon, then Chelsea could very well be ending the season out of the top-four.
