Arsenal brought in Lucas Torreira from Sampdoria during the summer of 2018 and as per the latest rumours, he could very well be on his way out in January.

Last season, the midfielder played quite a good number of games for the Gunners but this campaign he has fallen down the pecking order, both under Unai Emery and Freddie Ljungberg.

And as per the latest transfer gossip, Serie A side Napoli are interested in signing the Uruguayan at the start of the new year.

As per Gazzetta Dello Sport, Napoli have made an offer to sign Lucas Torreira on loan during the January transfer window with a view to making the deal permanent during at the end of the season.

The Italian side have reportedly submitted a €3 million loan bid but there’s no way the Gunners will accept that amount for such a high-value player.

There had been rumours that Lucas Torreira wanted to move out of the Emirates during the summer but ultimately that did not happen since the midfielder was willing to give his career one more go.

But clearly, this hasn’t worked too well for him since so far the World Cupper has started only eight Premier League games for Arsenal with most of them coming at a time when Granit Xhaka was stopped from playing.

While the North London club will surely not want part ways with Torreira but the player will surely need some major convincing to make his stay back.

The €3 million loan bid is without a doubt a very small amount but many experts believe that this initial bid was them just trying to test the waters.

Lucas Torreira could very well move out of the club in January but according to us, it will be Granit Xhaka who will dictate this transfer. If the Swiss international tries to force his way out of the club at the start of the new year, then there’s no way that Arsenal will be willing to let Torreira leave.
