Chelsea are currently in Japan for their pre-season training and next up they take on Barcelona at the Saitama Stadium.

This will be perfect preparation for the Blues since during their first matchday of the 2019-20 Premier League season they will take on Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Everyone is eager to see how Frank Lampard builds up his strategy for his first-ever competitive game in charge of Chelsea.

And now speaking about his team’s preparations during the pre-season tour, full-back Marcos Alonso has hinted how the Blues could play when they take on Man United.

Alonso told Sky Sports(as reported by Football London): The first few sessions have been going very well.

“I feel very good playing the way the manager wants with high intensity, trying to keep the ball, moving the ball side to side and giving freedom for the full-backs to attack.

“Of course, knowing that our main target is to defend but I’m very happy with how we’re working and looking forward to the start of the season.”

Frank Lampard is clearly focusing on possession-based football for the upcoming season and this will seriously be a great task to achieve against the new-look Man United side.

During their respective friendlies, it is quite evident that Solskjaer is preparing his team for a high press game.

In the matches vs Inter and Leeds United, the Man United were frantically chasing down their opponents whenever they tried to play from the back.

So it will be very intriguing to see how Chelsea managed to deploy their new tactics at Old Trafford next month.
