Chelsea seem to have joined the race to sign midfielder Adrien Rabiot along with fellow Premier League rivals, Arsenal – according to reports.

He was wanted by Emery last summer on a free transfer but the midfielder chose to join Juventus instead – a move which clearly hasn’t turned out too well for him.

This season, he’s failed to win the trust of Maurizio Sarri in Turin and so far has played in only 17 Serie A matches failing to score even once. And due to the lack of playing time, Rabiot is keen to move out of the club in the summer.

Arsenal have once again shown interest in signing the 25-year-old but this time they will have to fight it out with Chelsea in they wish to bring in the Frenchman.

Will Adrien Rabiot snub Arsenal once again?

The Gunners are currently being managed by Mikel Arteta which is why we think the club have a very fighting chance to sign the midfielder.

But at the same time, Arsenal will not be playing in the Champions League next season which could be a major deciding factor as far as a transfer is concerned. Rabiot is a top player who will want to keep playing at the highest level in Europe and right now there’s no guarantee as to when the Gunners will move back amongst the big boys.

Juventus reportedly have no problems in letting the player leave but since he has three years left on his current deal, the Turin outfit are expected to demand a really steep price for him in the summer.

While Chelsea are more than ready to splash money in the transfer market we are not sure if Arsenal will be willing to pay too much for Adrien Rabiot.

Right now Arteta has a whole host of central midfielders at his disposal and in order to be ready to make a big offer for Rabiot, the Gunners will first have to dispose of some of their existing talents.

Also, Chelsea midfielder Jorginho is wanted by Maurizio Sarri at Juventus meaning the Blues could try and offer the Italian in a swap deal to sign Rabiot in the summer.

So clearly, the odds are stacked against Arsenal at this moment and Arteta will have to really sweat it out if he wishes to land this deal.
