Chelsea signed Christian Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund in January but the youngster was immediately loaned back to the German club.

So when the winger arrived at Stamford Bridge during this summer, it was like signing a new player which was a really big boost since Chelsea are currently serving a transfer ban.

But sadly Christian Pulisic has not been able to make the desired impact under Frank Lampard and so far the 21-year-old has played in only four Premier League games out of which two have come off the bench.

And many pundits feel the American might very well turn out to be a failed product at Chelsea and there have also been talks about him trying to secure a move out of Stamford Bridge in January.

But with Chelsea playing a relatively easy opponent this weekend there is a chance that Christian Pulisic might be handed his third start vs Brighton.

And when the manager was asked about the impact which the youngster had, here’s what Lampard had to say.

“I have got four wingers now that they are all fit. It’s normal to have an adaptation. He has shown some good moments.

“We must give him a bit of time to adapt because of youth, change of league and living.

“They are all different, have different pathways. We know he has played in the Champions League.”

Verdict:

Christian Pulisic has made a really slow start to his life at Chelsea and he is yet to find the back of the net for his new club.

But we think, the American international will be in line to start the Brighton game in place of Mason Mount.

The 21-year-old started during Chelsea’s 7-1 win vs Grimsby Town in midweek and it was more than a decent display from him. Hence we feel, Lampard might be tempted to name him in the starting XI once again simply because the Seagulls do not pose much of a threat.
