Rangers FC played their first game of the Europa League group stages against Spanish side Villarreal away from home and we can safely say it was one of the best performances from the Light Blues in the current season.

Rangers went behind in the first minute of the match through a goal from Carlos Bacca and then it was all fight back for the Light Blues.

But looking at their first-half performance everyone thought that Steven Gerrard’s men will have to return back to Scotland empty-handed.

And then the players came out for the second half and the Gers looked a totally different team.

Rangers scored twice in the second half thanks to Scott Arfield and Kyle Lafferty to finally seal a point and many people are crediting this win to the manager and his inspiring speech.

And now winger Daniel Candeias has revealed what the manager had actually told the player inside the locker room at halftime.

Candeias said: “When we finished the first half, the gaffer said in the dressing room to believe in ourselves and get a great result. I know we didn’t win, but a draw is a good result for us.”

Rangers will now shift their focus back to the Scottish Premiership where they take on sixth-placed St Johnstone at the Ibrox this Sunday.
