Man United drew their previous Premier League game vs Southampton but it was a good personal outing for summer signing Daniel James.

Daniel James opened the scoring with a beautiful right-foot curler in the 10th minute and at that point, it looked like United would pick up an easy three-pointer.

That though was not supposed to be as Vestergaard equalised in the second half following which the  Red Devils could not come up with an answer.

And while manager was not too pleased with the toothless aggression from his players but he did praise Daniel James claiming that the youngster is currently an example for his teammates.

He’s come in and made an impact ever since day one in training – [today] he made a recovery run, won the ball, went forward,” Solskjaer said to the media. “I think he’s an example for everyone,

“He’s our top scorer and that comes from his personality, his habits. He’s humble, he works hard and he knows he can improve. He’s come in and made an impact ever since day one in training.”

“He made a recovery run [against Southampton], won the ball, went forward… He knows he could have scored a few more and we’ll work with him to get his quality even higher. Then we’ll have a top, top player.”

Daniel James arrived from Swansea this summer and during pre-season, the winger did get a fair amount of playing time. But it was always certain the youngster will not be an immediate starter.

Now though with Alexis Sanchez moving out on loan to Inter Milan things are looking different as he has already managed to net three goals in just four appearances for Man United.

Daniel James had himself claimed before the start of the season that he was willing to be have patience to get his opportunity but it looks like Ole has been impressed with his work ethics and commitment both on and off the field.

While some fans have claimed it is too early to make James a big star but the kid has already shown what he is capable of and the manager is trying to use him as an example to show the other players what is exactly wanted of them.

The winger obviously is blessed with electric pace and if he can just work on the unnecessary diving then surely he can be the next big thing under Solskjaer.
