Man United winger Daniel James recently seemed to pick up a head injury while playing for his national side Wales and on first viewing, it looked as if the winger was knocked out cold.

A stretcher was even brought onto the pitch to take off the player but the Wales medical staff worked extensively to put him back on.

And it looks like this has caught the eye of brain charity Headway who interrogated Wales’s medical department to see if the concussion policy had been followed.

While this has certainly left the Wales medical team a bit red-faced and fuming but Welsh manager Ryan Giggs has not shied away from slamming the charity saying that they missed a lot of good work and only focused on Daniel James since he plays for Man United.

Giggs said[as quoted]: “I don’t know about regret, but maybe I could have worded it a little bit differently.

“As a manager, I should be used to it, but I was a little bit frustrated that after two good performances I was having to talk about someone who didn’t get a concussion. I want to talk about football.

“I was quite surprised that they didn’t mention Ethan (Ampadu), who did come off with a head injury. An organisation like that not having faith in our medical department, which is outstanding.

“We brought Joe Allen out of a huge game (the 2018 World Cup qualifier against the Republic of Ireland) and Kieffer Moore had five stitches in the game before.

“Nothing gets said about that, the easy target is Dan James because he plays for Man United. It creates headlines.”

Daniel James has been one of the rare shining lights for Man United this season but to be honest, the player does have a tendency of going down too easily and he is already building kind of a negative reputation amongst the officials.
