Premier League Daniel Sturridge

Daniel Sturridge was released by Liverpool at the end of the 2018-19 season after Jurgen Klopp refused to give the forward a new contract at the club.

The German said“Alberto is a person whose personality is reflected in how he plays – full of life, full of energy, always positive. An unbelievable character who is always willing to give all of himself for the team.

“Daniel has earned the right to be considered a modern-day Liverpool great, I would think. He came to the club while we were trying to rebuild and re-establish ourselves. Some of the goals he has scored for Liverpool were so, so, so important.

“We will miss them of course, but we can say farewell with the best words possible: Guys, you leave as European champions.”

And currently the England international is serving a two weeks ban for breaching betting rules.

Initially, Daniel Sturridge was fined £75,000 and handed a six-week ban but four of them were suspended meaning the player is free to play from the start of next month.

Currently, fresh reports are suggesting that Aston Villa are interested in signing him during the current transfer window.

Newcastle United have also been linked with a move for the striker but now that Steve Bruce has taken charge of the Magpies we doubt if the club will move for Daniel Sturridge anymore.

Aston Villa have returned back to the Premier League which is why they are looking for reinforcements for the upcoming seasons and bringing in a new attacker is one of their utmost priorities.

While Daniel Sturridge will be a fine buy for Villa but right now the FA is working to increase the sentence of the player’s ban which means that the former Liverpool man could be banned for six months.

But this is still a really distant idea and right now Aston Villa are fully focused on convincing Daniel Sturridge to commit his future to the club for whom he played as a kid
