Arsenal will have to shell out around £27million if they wish to sign 28-year-old Danilo Pereira, who’s being viewed as an alternative to Thomas Partey, as per talkSPORT.

The report claims: “Arsenal will have to shelve out ‘something close’ to £27million for Porto midfielder Danilo Pereira.

“Portuguese news outlet O Jogo report that Pereira will be allowed to leave the Estadio do Dragao this summer – but only at the right price.

“Various reports have indicated that the Gunners would be willing to offered £18m for Pereira’s services, but it is expected that any such bid would be instantly rejected.

“Porto are understood to have rejected a bid of £27m for the Portugal international last summer.”

Will Arsenal shift their focus to Danilo Pereira?

Arsenal will be working on a limited budget this summer but £27million is something they can easily afford which is why many pundits think Arteta might scrap the idea of signing Thomas Partey altogether.

But various rumours across Europe claim that the Premier League side are still keeping Thomas at the top of their transfer wishlist and they are not actually keen to spend £27million on Pereira.

Danilo Pereira joined FC Porto back in 2015 and during the 2019-20 season, he played in 26 Liga NOS matches for the club, scoring two and assisting one goal.

The player has two years left on his current deal at Porto meaning if Arsenal push hard enough, they should be able to land him before the new season kicks off. But we think Arteta will only shift his focus to Danilo Pereira if he’s absolutely certain that Atletico Madrid will not let Thomas Partey leave.
