Arsenal forward Danny Welbeck picked up a nasty ankle injury in early November and the player was then ruled out of action for the rest of the season.

The injury required two rounds of surgery in November and Danny Welbeck is slowly taking steps towards a full recovery.

Last week, the England international went to the UAE for some mobility training and this week he has returned back to Arsenal’s Colney training base.

While Danny Welbeck is making a fast enough recovering from the ankle injury it is still unclear whether he will be able to feature for Arsenal this season.

“[Returning to action] is not something I can put a time frame on,” he told UAE-based publication Sport360(as reported by Sky Sports).

“I want to make sure I’m 100-per-cent right when I come back. But I’m really pleased with my progress.

“It’s nice to have a break and get some good weather. I’m doing a bit of training out here but hopefully, when I get back to London Colney I can kick on a bit more. I’m looking forward to it.

“It was difficult to take at the time. There’s never a right time to get injured.

“The early stages were hard but you’ve got to stay strong and focused on what you’ve got to do to get back fit, and that’s what I’ve done.

“There’s stuff that will make you stronger and, mentally, I’m in a good place at the moment. I’m making good progress and I’m happy with the stage I’m at.”

If Danny Welbeck cannot play this season then we doubt if he will ever put on that Arsenal jersey again.

Unai Emery has been planning to release some unwanted players in order to gather funds for the summer transfer window and with Aubameyang and Lacazette at his disposal, the 28-year-old certainly falls in that category.
