Manchester City take on Liverpool in the Premier League at the Etihad on Thursday.

And the outcome of this game could have a major impact on how the league looks at the end of the season.

Liverpool are yet to lose a game this season while Man City have suffered three defeats – all of which have come in December of 2018.

But with as many as five first-team injuries are Man City looking at their fourth defeat of the season?

Man City team news vs Liverpool:

Man City go into this match with some key players on the verge of missing out.

The biggest one being playmaker Kevin De Bruyne who is currently recovering from a muscle injury and reports have it that the Belgium international might not be fit in time before the clash vs Liverpool.

Ilkay Gundogan is also out with a knock and he too remains doubtful for Thursday’s game.

Even if the German does manage to recover, Pep Guardiola will not likely start with him.

Benjamin Mendy has picked up a knee injury and the club have confirmed that he will remain out of action for atleast 10 to 12 weeks.

And this will be a huge problem for Pep Guardiola since Fabian Delph is also suspended for the Liverpool game.

The absence of both Delph and Mendy means Laporte could play at left-back while Stones and Kompany play in central defence.

Claudio Bravo and Eliaquim Mangala remain long-term absentees for Manchester City.

A win for Liverpool will be mean that Man City will be 10 points behind the Reds in the title race and with the way Jurgen Klopp’s men are playing this season, it will be really tough to claw back such a lead.
