Real Madrid seem to have hit a brick wall in the pursuit of Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea after the Spain No 1 claimed that he is happy at Old Trafford.

Real Madrid have long been in pursuit of the United shot-stopper and reports have suggested that Florentino Perez is all set to make a bid for De Gea during the summer transfer window.

Before the World Cup begins in Russia, David de Gea was asked by reporters about his intentions of moving out of Manchester United amidst interest from the Los Blancos.

And the 27-year-old keeper responded by saying: “I’m always calm.

“The important date is June 15.

“The World Cup is important, for us to deliver a good performance, for the team to do well and for things to go as well as possible.

“Personally, I’m happy where I’m at, happy and at the same time I’m focused on the national team.”

This statement will surely make things much harder for Real Madrid and the impact could very well fall on the shoulders of Chelsea.

Blues keeper Thibaut Courtois has also been linked with Real and some reports have suggested that if Perez fails to land David de Gea then he will go after Courtois.

And now that De Gea has made his intentions pretty clear, the Bernabeu outfit might look to bag the services of Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois before the start of the upcoming season.

Courtois has maintained that he wants to move back to Madrid at some point of his career in order to stay with his children and by the looks of it, the Belgium No 1 could very well be playing for Real Madrid in the 2018-19 season.
