20-year-old Declan Rice has had a meteoric rise during the past two seasons ever since he broke into the West Ham United first team.

Last season, the midfielder played in 34 Premier League games for the Hammers which is why Manchester United were reportedly keen to sign him during the summer transfer window.

At one point, United had tried really hard to bring him onboard but West Ham refused to let him leave since Pellegrini wanted Declan Rice to be the mainstay for his midfield during the current campaign.

Some rumours though had claimed that Solskjaer had actually dropped interest in the England international because he was not good enough to be a Man United regular.

Now speaking about Man United’s interest in him during the summer, Declan Rice had gone on to claim that he is good enough to play for the Red Devils but right now he is solely focused on West Ham United.

“Don’t get me wrong, I think I’ve got the ability to play for a club like that,” Rice told FourFourTwo via The Daily Mirror.

“But it’s all about the timing and I don’t think the timing is right for me at all. I’ve still got so much to learn.

“I’m loving it at West Ham, the connection between me and the supporters is special. I’ve become one of the fans’ favourites and the manager likes me. It’s the best place for me to play my football.”

VERDICT:

Declan Rice surely has the ability to be a top-class player both for England as well as his club and West Ham United are fully aware of that.

So if Man United or any other interested club come to sign him either in January or next summer, the Hammers will quote a massive price for their most prized possession.

And for Man United to spend money upwards of 75 million pounds is something that Ole would not want to do right now especially since Scott McTominay is shaping up to become a top-class first-team player at the club.

Also, we believe Man United will not waste such a substantial budget on someone like Declan Rice and instead use that money to bring in Bruno Fernandes next summer.
