Manchester United are looking to sign Declan Rice from West Ham United in case Paul Pogba leaves the club this summer – as per reports.

Declan Rice came into prominence last season as he went on to play in 34 Premier League games for the Hammers – scoring 2 goals.

Then there was also the whole fiasco about his national side after the midfielder chose to ditch the Republic of Ireland in order to play for the Three Lions under Gareth Southgate.

And ever since shifting loyalties, Declan Rice has already made three appearances for the England national side.

Rice has been tipped to become the mainstay for the England side for a really long time and West Ham United will surely find it really hard to keep hold of him this summer – as per rumours.

Man United midfielder Paul Pogba has reportedly decided to head out of Old Trafford this summer and move back to Juventus which means that Solksjaer could ask his team to make a move for Declan Rice.

Manuel Pellegrini has made it clear that he does not wish to part ways with the youngster and instead wants to build a team around him for the upcoming season.

But still, some of the Hammers fans were convinced that Declan Rice will find it hard to resist a move to Man United if they really come calling.

Now though, the player seems to have dropped a major hint about his future and it looks like he is set to commit his future to West Ham United.

Recently, he was asked on social media which shirt number will he be wearing for the upcoming season and his reply was enough for the West Ham faithfuls to rejoice.

Declan Rice replied(as reported): “Had loads of people asking this… I WILL be keeping 41 for this season.”

Last week, reports had suggested that Man United had already made contact with West Ham over the sale of Declan Rice but now it is pretty clear that the midfielder himself does not want to leave.

But what will happen when United are ready to offer a substantial fee in exchange for the England international?
