Declan Rice is set to be one of the most talked-about players in the transfer market this summer – if the rumours are anything to go by.

Just a couple of days ago, there were reports of West Ham United putting the midfielder up for sale since they needed funds to bring in new players.

And immediately after this, Chelsea were being linked with the England international, primarily because the Blues have tried to sign him a number of times in the past as well.

But now as per a report in the Goal, the Hammers have no intentions of parting ways with Declan Rice and will resist any offer from Chelsea during the summer.

The report claims: “The Hammers are not interested in selling the England international and will not negotiate with Frank Lampard’s side over a possible summer deal.

“West Ham will resist any approach from Chelsea for Declan Rice over the summer and they have no interest in selling their prized asset to a London rival.”

This is really a setback for Frank Lampard since the manager wants to bring in a new midfielder in the summer due to fears of losing out both Kante and Jorginho.

While Jorginho has been linked with a move to Juventus, N’Golo Kante is being eyed by Real Madrid and if the Chelsea boss was to lose both these players, he’d surely be doomed.

Declan Rice would have been a perfect solution to this issue but as things stand, the Hammers are not ready to sell him.

But we are sure, this is not the end of the saga since David Moyes will need money to bring in reinforcements for the new season and right now, the club’s short of funds primarily due to the ongoing lockdown.

So it will not be surprising to see if West Ham change their stance once again and put Declan Rice back in the market.
