Liverpool will host Bayern Munich in the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16 next week.

And right now, Jurgen Klopp has a series of injuries to deal with.

Trent Alexander Arnold might have made his return back from injury but the right-back has claimed that he is still a few weeks away from full fitness.

And this means that once again it will be James Milner who will play at right-back vs Bayern.

But the biggest problem that the manager currently has is with his central defenders especially with Dejan Lovren still out injured.

Dejan Lovern is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury and Jurgen Klopp has made it clear that it is still to early to predict as to whether the defender will be available vs Bayern next week.

Speaking to Liverpool’s official website, Klopp said(as reported): ‘I don’t want to rule it out but I cannot really plan with it. He is not here for good reasons, because he cannot be part of training.

‘We are back on Friday. Then from Saturday on, Dejan is back at Melwood and we will see. But, of course, we have to prepare it differently. If Dejan gives a sign on Monday – ‘I feel brilliant’ – then we’d have to think anew.

‘But in the moment we prepare the game and in this preparation, Dejan is not involved. We have to find other solutions.’

If Dejan Lovren is unavailable for selection then it would mean that Joel Matip will be the only fit central defender since Virgil Van Dijk is ruled out due to a suspension.

In such a scenario, the manager would have to put forward a makeshift defensive line and with the firepower that Bayern have got, they can easily tear apart the Reds back line.
