Arsenal have signed Denis Suarez from Barcelona on a loan spell until the end of the season with an option to buy during the summer.

And everyone thought that the arrival of Denis Suarez meant the end of Mesut Ozil.

But since then Unai Emery has come out to claim that the Barcelona man has been brought in to fill the gap out on the wings and his place in the side has nothing to do with Mesut Ozil.

But according to former Tottenham Hotspur boss Tim Sherwood, the arrival of Denis Suarez goes completely against the morals of Arsenal football club.

“Their best assets are the ones they brought in,” he said on Sky Sports’ The Debate(as reported).

They paid top dollar for [Alexandre] Lacazette, [Pierre-Emerick] Aubameyang, [Lucas] Torreira, [Matteo] Guendouzi but where are the academy players at Arsenal?,”

“They used to bring them through, used to give them an opportunity to play. They don’t even play now, we don’t see them.

“They’re all loaned out.

“I just think there is no long-term plan. There is no short-term plan there certainly. If there was one player they didn’t need it was Denis Suarez.

“They needed a defender, they need to go all-out for a centre-half but they didn’t bring one in.”

Denis Suarez came off the bench to make his debut during Arsenal’s 3-1 loss vs Manchester City but the midfielder is expected to be given his first start for the side when Arsenal take on Huddersfield this weekend.

Unai Emery certainly feels that Saurez will be the man to solve his wide attacking problems but the player has had very little game time at Barcelona and by the time he hits his stride, the current season might very and truly be over for Arsenal.
