Manchester United signed Diogo Dalot in 2018 from Porto and he was regarded as one of Jose Mourinho’s best signings. But just two years later, it looks like Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is hatching plans to sell him off.

The player has been pushed down the pecking order after the arrival of Aaron Wan-Bissaka last summer which is one of the main reasons why his manager is now ready to listen to incoming offers for the Portuguese.

During the current season, Diogo Dalot has played in only four Premier League matches for Manchester United and sometimes he has even been able to make it to the bench.

As per The Sun, the injury-prone player is of no use to Solskjaer anymore which is why anything around £30 million will encourage Man United to offload him in the summer.

The report claims: “DIOGO DALOT is already fighting for his Manchester United future – just a little more than 18 months after joining.

“The 21-year-old is regarded as one of the best young full-backs in Europe, with ex-boss Jose Mourinho singling him out for praise.

“But Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s incredible debut campaign at United has changed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s future plans.

“And it is understood the Red Devils would consider letting Dalot now leave, but only if a sizeable offer was to come in.”

Should Diogo Dalot be allowed to leave?

This season, Aaron Wan Bissaka has done a great job as the first-choice right-back for Manchester United which is why there’s no way Diogo Dalot will be able to break into the starting lineup anytime soon.

This season, the 21-year-old has seen some game time in the Europa League but if Man United were to get back into the Champions League then these appearances are also likely to dry out pretty soon.

And given that Man United have someone like Timothy Fosu-Mensah who can act as the backup to Bissaka, Diogo Dalot is nothing but a waste of locker room space at the club.

Yes, the player has talent but he still needs polishing to succeed at the top level and to be honest Solskjaer just doesn’t have the time to nurture and guide him.

So, it’s better Man United sell him off and use that transfer money to strengthen their other departments over the course of the summer.
