Man United have been keeping tabs on Fiorentina winger Federico Chiesa as a cheaper alternative to Jadon Sancho but it looks like the player will cost in the same region as the Dortmund sensation.

There had been reports that Man United and other interested clubs(namely Juventus) might be able to sign Chiesa for a transfer fee of around £60 million which is very much within the reach of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

But now Fiorentina President Rocco Commisso has hinted that the club could charge an absurd amount of money in exchange of Chiesa.

“Chiesa has to make a decision and, if he wants to leave, I won’t stand in his way, as long as the price is right,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport, as reported by Juvefc.com.

“How much is Lautaro’s release clause? €111m? I could take off a million for Chiesa……..I’m kidding!

“Chiesa knows what Fiorentina are all about, who Rocco is and what he’ll find here in the future. If he goes elsewhere, I don’t know.

“If he wants to go to Juve there are no vetoes for certain clubs, but right now I have a splendid relationship with Federico and his father.

“Castrovilli? I’ve liked this lad from day one. He’s phenomenal, always smiling. I like how our young talents give us credit, Barone, Prade, Iachini, Ferrari, Antognoni, Dainelli, a whole working group.”

Do Man United have a chance of signing Chiesa?

Chiesa is a fine talent but he’s nowhere close to the expertise of Jadon Sancho so if Fiorentina are indeed thinking of quoting such an extraordinary price for the winger, Man United are better off focusing on the England international.

As things stand, Sancho and Man United have a verbal agreement and only the finer details of the deal need to be figured out so Solskjaer need not dive too much into this Chiesa transfer race.

If the major publications in Europe are to be believed then Sancho to Man United is more or less a done deal so clearly, Federico Chiesa is not of much importance to the Old Trafford outfit which gives Juventus a clear shot at him in the summer.
