Douglas Costa could be moving for Manchester United during the summer transfer window – as per reports.

Well, we are sure this is not the first time that you have heard such a statement as this was one of the biggest stories last summer.

And it looks like this news has resurfaced once again.

It is no secret that Juventus are trying really hard to bring back Paul Pogba from Manchester United after the player claimed that he was ready for a new challenge.

Maurizio Sarri seems to have made the World Cup winner his biggest transfer priority this summer but up until now, Man United have refused to cave in – claiming that Pogba is not up for sale(kind of).

United are actually willing to send Pogba to Juventus but in return, they want around €140 million for him which is a really steep price for the Turin based outfit.

As a result of this, Juventus are willing to add Douglas Costa to the equation in the hopes that Man United will lower their asking price.

As per Sports Witness, “It’s explained the Italians have probed on all fronts, with Fabio Paratici speaking to Manchester United when he was in London to sort out the Maurizio Sarri situation, while Pavel Nedved pulled the short straw and had to sit down with Mino Raiola in Monaco.

“A few conditions were set in these meetings, namely that the Premier League club want a lot of money for their player (around €140m), which has led Juventus to ‘think about inserting a player’ in the potential deal.

“That name ‘could be Douglas Costa’, as it’s hardly a secret the Red Devils need a right-winger for their attack, but the Brazilian missed most of last season through injury, meaning he’s hardly the most appealing asset in Juventus’ squad these days.”

Man United are badly in need of a right winger but sadly Douglas Costa is not the player he once was during his time at Bayern Munich.

Last season, the 28-year-old played only 17 games in the Serie A as he spent most of his time recovering from injuries.

And if United do agree to take Douglas Costa plus cash in exchange of Paul Pogba then they might just have to drag another high profile dead horse in the upcoming campaign.
