Premier League side Arsenal are reportedly looking to bring in Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic to the club during the summer transfer window, as per Sport Witness.

The report claims: “Corriere Fiorentino reveal that man is Dusan Vlahovic, whose performances this season for the underperforming Serie A side have caught the eye of many bigger clubs.

“Fiorentina would now ideally like to extend that, but if they fail to do that, their demands will be ‘at least €50m’.”

Dusan Vlahovic has been one of the standout players in the Serie A this season, scoring 21 goals in 37 league matches so it was quite evident that a club like Arsenal will try and sign him.

But in the latest revelation, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has stated that the Gunners are not trying to sign the Serbian international during the upcoming transfer window.

He said in his podcast, as quoted: “Dusan Vlahovic, rumours from Italy for the striker of Fiorentina. Amazing player, he really is, scored 21 goals in a single season with Fiorentina, really is an interesting player, he’s 21 years old.

“But he’s not joining Arsenal, so there were rumours about Arsenal making the bid, something like this. No, not true, Vlahovic is not going to Arsenal.”

This is surely a bit of a setback for the Arsenal fans since Dusan Vlahovic has been a great player in the Italian top division this season and he could have been the ideal replacement to someone like Alexandre Lacazette.

With Lacazette’s contract coming to an end next year, Mikel Arteta is desperate to find a long-term replacement but if Romano is right then Dusan Vlahovic is not going to be that man.

Also, the 21-year-old still has two more years left on his current deal and we are not sure if the club will be ready to match his transfer price given that they will not be in Europe next season.
