Arsenal have been heavily linked with Rennes midfielder Eduardo Camavinga and this may be the reason why they are not pursuing Brighton and Hove Albion’s Yves Bissouma.
Yves Bissouma has been long linked with the Gunners but recently Fabrizio Romano has claimed that the Mali international is not at the top of Arsenal’s transfer wishlist despite him being one of the most talked-about midfielders in the Premier League this season.
“He’s been linked to Arsenal, yes. But I’m told he is not the hottest name for Arsenal. They are looking for something else,” Romano told United Stand.
This rejection of a transfer battle with Liverpool for the signing of Yves Bissouma has convinced many experts and fans that Arsenal are have chosen Eduardo Camavinga as their first-priority transfer target for the summer transfer window.
Eduardo Camavinga has come up through the ranks at Rennes and this season he has been one of the key figures for the Ligue 1 side, featuring in 35 league matches.
Arsenal feel the youngster will be a much better signing than the Brighton man but if the latest reports are anything to go by then the Gunners could be in for a lot of trouble.

The rumours claim Arsenal are amongst a series of top European clubs who have shown an interest in the midfielder and with sides like Madrid and PSG keen to sign him, Camavinga is not ready to commit his future to the Premier League side.
The report claims: “Apparently Camavinga would have rejected the offer that the gunner team would have put on the table, understanding that he can aspire to a higher category team such as Real Madrid, Paris Saint Germain or Bayern Munich, who are currently the main candidates to take over the services of the young French midfielder, who will be one of the main players in the transfer market as of July 1.”
This will be a major blow for Arsenal since Yves Bissouma is also being targeted by Liverpool so if they fail to land the Rennes man then the whole situation is going to turn into a mess for manager Mikel Arteta.
Arsenal have finished eighth on the league table season so it’s highly unlikely they will be able to attract all the big names in the transfer market, especially when European powerhouses like Liverpool and Bayern Munich want the same players.
