Ederson Moraes Man City news
Ederson Moraes Man City

Man City take on Chelsea in the English Premier League on Saturday and going into the match keeper Ederson Moraes was a big doubt.

The keeper picked up a hamstring injury while playing against Atalanta in the Champions League and this problem meant he had to leave the pitch during the match was on.

But surely injury was a bit too serious since Ederson also missed Man City’s 3-1 loss to Liverpool two weeks and last week there were doubts whether he would be fit to take on Chelsea this weekend.

Now though it looks like the keeper has made a full recovery as Pep Guardiola has confirmed he has had full training sessions during the weekend.

“Ederson is back. He trained the last few days with no pain,” the manager said.

“[Regarding the other players] Same situation, players fit after Liverpool are fit, those injured are still injured a few more months.”

This will certainly be a big boost for the Man City boss since Claudio Bravo infront of goal has always been a nervy moment for the defending champions.

Also, a big reason why Man City failed to play out from the back vs Liverpool was that Ederson wasn’t there to set off those quick counter-attacks.

And this is will also be the main challenge for Chelsea during the weekend since the likes of Tammy Abraham and Willian have to ensure that Ederson is not given the freedom to play selected passes to the City midfielders.
