Ederson Moraes Man City

Manchester City welcome Chelsea in the Premier League this weekend and it looks like Ederson will be fit to play this game on Saturday.

Ederson picked up an injury while playing in the Champions League vs Atalanta and had to be substituted by Claudio Bravo in goal.

City boss Pep Guardiola later described the injury as a muscular problem which also kept him out of City’s 3-1 loss to Liverpool right before the international break.

Thankfully though this break has come at a perfect time which has given Ederson plenty of time to recover and it looks like the 26-year-old will be named in the first XI when Chelsea come to town on Saturday.

The goalkeeper has returned back to full team training earlier this week and this is certainly a bit of a setback from Frank Lampard.

Claudio Bravo in goal is never a pleasing sight for Guardiola since the former La Liga keeper is prone to errors especially when playing out from the back.

Ederson though is ice-cool even when attackers are trying to close him down quickly and his long passes have many a time helped Man City convert defence into swift counter-attacks.

While the return of his keeper a pleasant sight for Guardiola, the Man City boss will surely miss the services of Bernardo Silva as the player is suspended for the Chelsea game.

Even with Ederson in goal, we are pretty confident Chelsea will not change their game plan in trying to stop City from playing out from the back more so since John Stones will be partnered by Fernandinho in central defence.
