Edinson Cavani has seen his game time diminish ever since Ronaldo’s arrival and according to Mundo Deportivo, he could be on his way to Real Madrid in January.

The Real Madrid manager is reportedly keeping tabs on the situation and there’s a big chance he could ask his board to sign the South American.

Sports Mole cites the report: “A recent report claimed that Real Madrid were weighing up a January move for Cavani, with Carlo Ancelotti’s side keen to sign competition for Karim Benzema at centre-forward.

“According to Mundo Deportivo, the Uruguay international is open to moving to the Bernabeu, as he dreams of playing in Spain before the end of his professional career.

“The report claims that whether Cavani pushes for a January exit is likely to depend on how much football he receives between now and the opening of the winter window.”

Will Edinson Cavani want a move to Real Madrid?

Edinson Cavani was the main centre-forward for Manchester United last season, scoring 13 goals in 26 Premier League matches last season but since Ronaldo’s arrival, the South American has slightly fallen down the pecking order.

So far, the forward has mostly made substitute appearances but we are confident his game time will improve as the season rolls along.

At Ronaldo’s age, there’s no way he will be able to play week in week out for Man United so Ole will have to rotate his centre-forwards as the games come thick and fast. And right now, Cavani is way above Anthony Martial in the pecking order.

Having said that, Cristiano will remain the first-choice forward for Man United and if Edinson Cavani is not happy with that then he could try and secure an exit.

The South American will be able to add a lot of flair into the current Real Madrid squad but there’s no way Solskjaer is going to sanction a sale of such a key player during the middle of the season.
